How to Infuse Sensuality Into Your Online Brand
I’ve been writing a sex blog under a pen name as a creative outlet. When I was in college, I wrote a paper about censorship in art and pornography. I’ve also been interested in erotica for years and dream of writing erotica novellas. In fact, my vision is to create a self-publishing arm to my business where I help women craft their own memoirs and sensual stories.
At some point, I realized I needed to embrace my sensuality – and own it, in order to truly merge into a leadership role that would stem from the sensual feminine.
I needed to stop hiding and start being more of who I am. Naturally.
My intuition tells me that the sooner I start showing up as a sensual being, the more successful I will become. Not just because it’s a big part of who I am, but because sensuality is a part of the creative energy needed to cultivate and run a business.
Think about it. Sensuality is passionate. It’s a part of that inner drive to create and birth ideas. When someone acts out sexually, they may actually be craving an outlet for creativity and self expression. The next time you want to look at porn, cop a feel, or something “unproductive”, divert your attention by asking yourself what you could replace to nurture your creativity and exploration instead. Then, use that creativity to enhance your brand.
To get you started, here are 4 ways to infuse sensuality into your online brand.
1.) Let’s talk about sex, baby
Yes, actually talking about sex is a good way to start things off. Don’t shy away from taboo. Fantasize. Start discussions with your partner and your friends.
Write about sex.
Write about sensuality, spirituality, and spiritual sex.
Write about sensuality and creativity and how it’s intrinsically linked.
Spirituality, sexuality, and creativity create a triad that fuel each other. If sensuality is something that resonates for you and your brand, there’s always a way to tie everything back to the root of all things: sex.
2.) Root in Red
The color red represents the root chakra, the first chakra located at the base of the spine and groin area, which often manifests as sexual expression. It’s also the color of passion. Red lipstick immediately makes you feel sexier.
Whenever I start my work day, whether or not I’m wearing pajamas or my birthday suit, I put Queen Bee lipstick on. It’s pretty much become the equivalent of getting dressed! Add red to your brand color palette, and you’ll show your sensual flair.
Note that different shades of red can work here. There’s fire engine red for the sex pot. Cosmopolitan cranberry red for elegant sparkle. The root chakra is also associated with survival. You’ll see buy now buttons often in a deep red color, so be careful not to look cheesy, or desperate. Red should convey sexiness, sensuality, and sexual expression, not some sleazy Internet marketing dude with an infoproduct.
3.) Your iconic style
Photography can evoke sensuality when the photoshoot is sassy and feminine. My own nude photography shots are definitely sensual, and for me they signify my Wild Woman or my inner Queen bee, which is how I feel when I operate from my highest self.
Use your fashionista style to express your fun, sensual side, and your high vibe visionary brand. Find your Style Voice, as Eyenie from TechniColor Priestess likes to call it. (Mine is the Renegade Firefly Empress.) Like in branding with your brand story, your style voice is what feelings you want to evoke by the way you dress. The Renegade Firefly Empress represents the visionary, luminary light, and futurist aspect. The easiest way to uncover what you want your photos to look like is to create a board on Pinterest. You can see my photoshoot board here.
4.) Create sensual themes
Whether it’s a monthly column on your blog, an e-zine that talks about women’s empowerment, sensuality, and self-love, products centered around sensuality, or gifts for clients to help get their creative juices flowing, there are all kinds of ways to add sensuality to your online brand.
If you’re shy about adding more sensuality to your brand, know that sensual themes don’t have to equal sex straight away. After all, think about your senses. Chocolate can become an erotic tasty experience. Perfume, essential oils, and other fragrant scents can be a great way to add self-care and self-love into the mix that will help you feel sexier.
